Populate Defaults and day locks
What it does. Populate Defaults puts every active operator on their default work centre for each open shop day ahead, at their shift hours. Lock day marks a day's staffing as done so Populate Defaults leaves it alone.
How to use it
- Click Populate Defaults. D2 fills from today through your company's staffing look-ahead, which is 4 weeks unless you change it. D2 reports how many assignments it made and for how many weeks.
- Fix the days that differ by hand (F-0069).
- When a day is right, click Lock day. It turns to Locked. Click it again to unlock.
Populate Defaults only adds. It skips:
- a day an operator already has any assignment, so your hand edits stay
- a locked day
- a day the shop is closed, by its shop hours or a calendar exception
- an operator with no default work centre, or whose default work centre is inactive
Running it twice creates nothing new the second time.
FAQ
Can I still change a locked day? Yes. A lock only stops Populate Defaults. Your own edits still go through.
I changed an operator's default work centre. Do I run it again? No. Saving an operator with a new default work centre or new shift hours redoes that operator's staffing on every unlocked open day in the look-ahead. Locked days keep what they had.
How far ahead does it fill? Your company's staffing look-ahead, in whole weeks from today. An admin sets it in Settings, on the Staffing defaults look-ahead card.
