Work centres
What it does. Sets up departments and work centres, and how each work centre counts in the schedule.
How to use it
Open Settings, then Work Centers. Add a department with a name and code, for example Welding and WELD. Under it, each work centre has:
- Dept: its department.
- Type: Schedulable, Material, Outside Process or Staging. A schedulable step must be finished before the next step can start. A material step uses inventory to decide when the next step can go.
- Lead Time: the standard days a step takes there, for turnaround work.
- Shop Hrs: inherited from Company Settings.
- Eff Cap: worked out from the active operators qualified for it.
- Active, and Consumes Cap: whether its steps use labour capacity. Off means the work centre only orders its steps.
A note shows whether your edits are saved. Reset to Defaults puts the list back to its starting values. Delete removes a work centre.
FAQ
OrderTime added a work centre I didn't make. It shows under Changes from OrderTime (F-0247) and runs at default capacity until you set it up here.
